There are many reasons to read this article and apply the principles put forth herein. If you're a beginner--I have you covered. If you are currently a sang as I once was, then you can learn to get your fill without the fuss and risks of blood and whenever you want. Those are just two things I can mention off the top of my head. Now ... Let me start this introduction to vampirism (sometimes called "psychic" or "psi-vampirism") with a few small notes. For one, when taking energy breathe in through the mouth and out through the nose as this will make it easier to prevent pushing the energy back out which you've just received. Secondarily VISUALIZATION IS KEY even if you can't visualize sharply, clearly, and brightly. But DO NOT be fooled by your limited physical sight. Before you earn and achieve success you must come to understand that what you are visualizing is truly happening. This helps your intent on all levels to perform the act you consciously desire to perform. You see, sorcery is not a conscious activity despite the involvement of the ego in said process. We must involve the deeper mind. Sorcery whether it be for the destruction of an enemy, some other form of personal gain, for vampirism or what-have-you is an act of imagination, intent, action, and projection of desire. Admittedly this places sorcery in a proverbial nutshell of course but that is all that relates to vampirism as such and so other observations would be superfluous to the aims of this article.
Before anything else, allow me to expose some of the beloved mythology of the Western vampire for the apparent truth behind it as was seen in Kenneth Grant's book, Gamaliel: Diary of a Vampire:
The nature of the vampire has been misunderstood. It is time that
somebody with direct experience attempted to explain it.
The vampire deliberately absorbs the energy of the living in order to go on living, but its fundamental characteristic is that it is dead, for it is detached from life in the ordinary sense of that word. [edit: ontologically dead but not soulless.) It is also emotionally sterile, insofar as love and hate are equally meaningless to it. [edit: opposites are transcended in the devouring of all.) Anyone coming in contact with such a monster is always infected, if not actually ruined, even if no actual vampirism has occurred. It drains off energy in order to vitalize an existence which is introverted and self-contained.
For this reason alone the vampire is a comparatively rare phenomenon. It has no ambition beyond living to live. It is the pure sensualist relishing nothing but the power to relish all; for living entirely at the expense of others is, to it, the acme of all gratification.
The old legends concerning this abnormality are symbolic patterns arising from fear generated in the victim. There are no known writings from the pen of a vampire. This is the first! But many accounts by victims of vampirism have been published. Such records seem to agree upon two points, at least: the first being that the vampire 'sleeps' between sunrise and sunset, and haunts between sunset and sunrise; the second being that it is considerably older than the normal human being has a right to be.
Observations as to methods of hunting and attack do not always concur.
The vampire's activity considered as occurring nocturnally is symbolic merely of the waning or darkening effect of the victim. It is also symbolic of the vampire itself, insofar as its self-sustaining energies are no longer operative. Because of this it is forced to absorb into its system the vitality of others. Furthermore, night and the hours of darkness are bound up with ideas of secrecy, sorcery, savagery, sexual cravings, gestation, embryonic life, and similar intrauterine conceptions; and it is the sexual part of the victim's anatomy that is attacked and depleted, the belly and sexual centre forming the main founts of the fiendish feast. These physical facts became modified in time and legend, and emerged as the popular notion of vampirism current almost everywhere, today.
As to the longevity legend: it also is a symbolic pattern indicative of the power of blood - the sustenance of the vampire - to produce and perpetuate existence. The chief reason for the predominance in the legends of blood and longevity is due to the fact that few vampires have been caught in the act; consequently, when outrages occur at intervals of a century or so, the incidents are often supposed to proceed from a common source, especially when occurring in or near the same locality.
But in what does the act of vampirism actually consist? The twin punctures in the throat may be regarded as euphemistic. The sole aim being to tap and to absorb animal life at its source, it is obvious that the vampire will not tap that part of the body furthest removed from it. On the contrary, its attack is directed at the generator of life. If prolonged and savage, the assault can cause death within an hour or two; but usually - that is, if the victim is young and in good health - a state of coma supervenes, at which stage the vampire departs. It is during the coma that are experienced the dreams which later emerge as legends, the shock of the assault producing similar impressions in each victim.
Few and slight external traces of attack are apparent, and because of this fact it has been concluded that the victim merely imagines them to have occurred. Psychologists, too, have failed to surprise the mechanism of vampirism, because they are bent on presenting clever interpretations of the legends created by the victim while in an abnormal condition. If the psychologists were to use common sense, they would realize how vampirism can cause disastrous consequences without any overt signs of attack.
Psychologists dilate upon the sharpness of the vampire's fangs, which they regard as symbolic of tearing-fantasies, ripping-compulsions, cutting-complices, biting urges, and sadistic acts in general. But all the vampire wants is Life. It is dead; it wants life. It is not concerned primarily with tearing, cutting, biting, or with hurting for its own sake; and the sucking in which it indulges is inevitable if it would drink the blood that is the life.
And what of the mirror superstition? The vampire is supposed to cast no reflection. The mirror is typical of that which reflects or reproduces the image. The vampire is not able to reproduce itself through the normal channels. Existing only by virtue of a stolen vitality, a life not its own, it is unable to beget creatures like itself; it breeds its likeness by empathetic obsession. This applies to the male of the species, but the process varies little in the case of the female. In ordinary life the female, as the vamp, draws off energy from the males with whom she comes into contact, and her source of energy reposes in the seed rather than in the blood.
Vampirism can be viewed as an intermediary stage between complete dependence on, and independence of, an external source of energy. There comes a time when the vampire desists from feeding on carrion and abides at peace within itself, imbibing its own essence, which it realizes as the totality of the Universe."
But ... before one ever attempts to feed from others or dares to take on the label of vampire, and even if you're a born natural vampire so to speak having little awareness or control despite latent ability, then you will have to put in a some effort to gain the rewards of beginning to train yourself to feed. The vampiric aspirant will need to sense energy before it can be utilized and gained from. There are two primary sources in human energy systems. For one, all people release an etheric sweat of emotions at the auric level (which process can be stimulated and fed from), as well as how we all possess a more rich store-house of life energy within us which is concentrated at the chakra centers (more on this later in PV102: Advanced PV). That in mind, there are four simple exercises I've picked up over the last 10 years which prepare you for vampirism:
1. is enhancing your ESP. To do that you close your eyes and with your left or right hand 1" or less above the table keep it hovering still. Next begin to move your hand in a random direction toward the edge of the table. You are to try to sense by feel alone the table, and where it ends. Open your eyes and verify your findings. Do this several times for your left then use your right hand and repeat. Don't start and end in the same spot each time as this only encourages cheating. Try to be in a mild trance for this.
#2. is learning to sense energy and can be done at the same time as the mastery of exercise #1. To do this, simply begin to picture everyone you meet as glowing faintly with a sort of light that fills and surrounds them in your mind's eye. Feel the energy. Is it thick, thin, light, dark, sickly, etc? Don't try to see the colored aura, just sense the vibe of the target's energy field. A vampire may feed on ambient energy of locations or other things like elemental energy or spirits; even Gods. Don't think you have to only sense the energy of humans. Do not think that this won't directly effect your ability to sense and communicate with spirit energies as it most assuredly will by default of sensitization to higher planes. Again we are beginning to turn our senses towards the occult domain of reality here. Part 2a of this exercise is sensing your OWN energies. Try to be aware of your entire body throughout the day as much as possible for some time. Feel the energy within. Secondarily you can also remember a time of strong emotion and replay this vividly. You can sense that energy in the form of emotions flows through your body perhaps starting in your solar plexus, moving up to your head, out to your arms, and down the rest of your body, etc. It will be a unique flow pattern for everyone; each emotion like rage, embarrassment, elation, etc. You will come to see that emotions are really just energies which have different effects on us and our etheric bodies. Google aura and etheric body if need be.
#3 is learning to move energy now that you can sense it somewhat. Sit in half lotus or get comfortable otherwise however you might want to while sitting up. Put your hands with fingertips touching for this exercise. You are going to cycle energy, which in effect is you feeding on yourself. This will not provide energetic gains but will make you more adept at moving others' energy. I note that eventually you will move these hands farther and farther apart to learn to feed without touching (ie, remote feed). For now, just focus on your breath for a few minutes until settled in, fingertips still touching. When relaxed begin to breathe light you sense in other people up your right arm from your left hand to come to rest in your solar plexus. When it's gathered and your breath is impelled fully, then begin to connect to that left parm and exhale that energy into it making a psiball if possible, or just feeling it build up there. On the inhale pull it back up to your right palm again and start over after that in a circle. Do this for a few minutes and then switch the flow to the opposite direction. It's important to note in closing this step that you are not just visualizing but need to eventually realize that you are to feel this process too. Imagining that you can do it will eventually give way to the realization that you can now actually see and feel energy moving. It's unfortunate that success has to be described in such subtle and generally vague terms but it is an unmistakable feeling nevertheless.
This simple technique repeated daily will provide awesome results and always has for me, I know. I've used it to "turn" an otherwise skeptic into a full fledged vampire. Extending your hands farther apart will provoke the growth of tendrils rapidly. Again it is only feeding on yourself yet this step in my experience must be mastered before one can quickly learn to feed on others or various energies, etc., especially remotely. Don't be discouraged if this exercise is slow to give results for the first few times if only visualized without success. It will quickly become real as you notice something happening and begin to feel energy sensations like prickling and pressure, warmth, electric tingling, and so on.
Lastly, #4., is that you should gain conscious rapport with your target remotely or in person. This attunement process greatly aids the endeavor of moving another's energy. Psychic rapport is accomplished by picturing and feeling a warm bubble of gold (or other) light forming around and isolating one or more of your targets and yourself. It makes further interaction much easier and allows the backdrop to fall away leaving your focus on their energy intact. If you can, then pull a copy of each target over yourself; become them. Feel how good it feels to be them and imagine their clothes, hair, and emotional vibe as your own. This will further act like a tuning fork for you and tune you into their being making it all the easier to drink from.
This and the rest of the books I have provided on site with their various exercises should be more than enough to get going and on the path which eventually will become your own.
