14,100+ Followers!

Thank you sooooo much. I know I haven’t mentioned follower growth in a while, but it’s still growing and I still am very, very grateful.

I spent most of this evening putting together a new layout over on The Morbid Fashion. It’s similar to the last one, but this one is so much cleaner. I still have a lot of tweaks that I am trying to tackle this week to individual posts (SEO, moving the images from Flickr to Wordpress, changing some of the cut links around, possibly making banners for every posts though I doubt that one). I am also still working on a bunch of posts and a few super secret projects! Mwahaha! *twiddles fingers*

What do you think of the new layout? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? (I have a feeling I know what those answers will be, but maybe I’ll be surprised.) Do you have any style questions you’d like me to answer? Anything you’ve been trying to find that you’d like me to do a post on?

Here are some post from the last week on The Morbid Fashion that you might have missed!

Gothic Wedding
I went through my Gothic Wedding Pinboard on Pinterest to find some of my favorite inspirational images. This post features a few dresses and general wedding accessories I would emulate if I was going to get married all over again.

Ichigo Black
Ichigo Black is another one of those independent clothing companies that makes my cold heart warm up with memories of my high school goth days. Their designs range from geeky, comfortable around the house wear to elaborate and custom cosplay designs.

Womens Gothic Shoes for Spring
Kicking off part one of our Gothic Fashion for Spring post series. The first post in this series focuses on shoes, specifically womens gothic shoes for spring. Here we have sandals, flats and some cute sneakers to help you celebrate the warmer weather that comes with spring.

Over the next week or so we will feature mens gothic shoes for spring; men and womens jackets for spring; men and womens gothic clothing choices for spring; some basic tips for finding gothic fashion that works in spring weather and possibly a few posts on accessories.

Need some help purchasing shoes that fit and will last? Be sure to check out a post I wrote last year called “Tips from a Former Shoe Salesgirl” where I covered as many of the tricks I learned from selling shoes.

Gothic Spring/Summer Clothing

  • Posted on March 24, 2011 at 8:09 am

I am working on a shopping post over on the main blog right now concerning gothic clothing for Spring/Summer because many of you have asked about it recently. I covered Gothic Summer Dresses last year, but I want to cover warmer weather clothing much more thoroughly.

I want to hear from you though about what you look for in warm weather clothing. Have you found any particular styles out there that work well for goths? Know of any specific stores that stock great summer clothing? Please let me know.

Do you have a specific type of Spring/Summer clothing you would like to find gothic versions of?

I was going to make this post when we hit 8000 followers, but in the last 24 hours 55 new people have followed Morbid Fashion. Which is pretty fucking incredible if you ask me.

A huge thank you, you’re amazing goes out to all of the followers because I seriously love you all. It astounds me that more people follow this blog every day.

If you’re new to Morbid Fashion you should check out our sister blog The Morbid Fashion dot Net where I share articles, answer questions, etc that just don’t fit well on Tumblr. Take a gander through our Archives, read through the FAQ and find out how I got so many followers.

If you would like to I would really appreciate it if you could recommend Morbid Fashion for the Tumblr fashion directory. I also love getting questions/comments/messages in the ask box or in my formspring if you prefer to go the anonymous route. You can always submit a picture/quote/video/etc to Morbid Fashion, but please note that the submit page is not for questions/messages.

Now that I have all that out of the way I have a question for you all.

I have been thinking of putting together a Morbid Fashion email list that will go out once every couple of weeks featuring links to recent posts, my favorite Tumblr pictures, lovely things from around the web, brief updates of what I have been up to offline, etc. Would you read that?

6000 Followers

Oh my fucking god, thank you all so much. Morbid Fashion turned one year old a month ago right after we hit 5000 followers and in a month we gained another 1000 followers. You are all far too amazing, seriously.

Can I spend all winter in this Rick Owens jacket? Pretty please?! (Also can winter hurry up and get here?

Did you know we have an official blog now? Head over to The Morbid Fashion.net to check it out. Most of it is still in my head at the moment, but keep watching it. Eventually it will be filled with shopping guides, tutorials, answers to questions (both from Tumblr and the blog), style icons, some interior design, etc.

Followers in the Phillipines! Could you keep an eye out for our Meg magazine interview? It should be within the next few months (I would imagine). If you see it could you send a scan/picture my way? Thank you so much.

Further business:

herdreamsonstrings, silentauror & gothgoddess thank you for your kind words!

rachelridiculous I will put together some pictures and places you can find Daria style boots later on today! I’ll post the link and send it your way when it’s done.

Thank you all!
Love,
Morbid Fashion
