susan blackmore

Blackmore was an important influence for me a few years ago when I was giving up on practicing magick because she had been through the same thing studying ESP: she researched it for years and determined that there wasn’t evidence to support her hypothesis. But she remained interested in “extraordinary human experience,” and showed me that it was possible to research and examine these issues from an open minded and respectful yet skeptical way. Blackmore considers these experiences an important part of the human condition worthy of our study and consideration, regardless of whether the causes are paranormal, psychological or neurological.

Dr. Susan Blackmore is a researcher of consciousness and what she calls “extraordinary human experience,” which includes experiences often referred to as “paranormal,” including out of body experiences and alien abduction. She has a PhD in parapsychology from the University of Surrey, where she studied ESP and memory and eventually gave up belief in the paranormal and adopted a more skeptical worldview.

Firstly, I don't think spirits are "paranormal," but there was not another folder to post this thread in. After reading this, feel free to post knowledge you have of hosting these creatures, and other relevant experience.

I call them ohm. They are fascinating "elemental" spirits, very pure in their natural state. There are those with the resonance of fire, those of water, and those of

Good Movies with "Paranormal" Themes

  • Posted on September 21, 2011 at 6:20 am
We are coming into the twilight time of the year (which is my favorite time) and I've been in the mood for some "paranormal"-type movies. I have never really liked the terms "paranormal" or "supernatural" but they are all we have to describe what I mean and in this case it doesn't matter because this thread is just for fun.

I have my own criteria for what I mean by a movie with a "paranormal" theme but everyone is free to add whatever they want to the discussion. I personally enjoy the movies that portray a classic, almost archetypal scenario dealing with a haunting or some kind of otherworldly disturbance. I particularly like the movies that have a team of stereotypical parapsychologists or paranormal investigators. You'll probably catch on to my theme with the list of movies I'm providing. A movie like Ghost for example is not something I really care for in this context. I don't mind movies like that but it is not what I'm aiming for here. I'm also usually turned off when a really interesting premise gets pushed too far into unbelievable territory. but I'll point these things out in my list

So, here is my list of favorite paranormal films... so far (and I'm probably forgetting a lot)... with my reasons for liking and/or including them:
  1. The Others (2001) - This is just classic with one of the coolest séance scenes ever. Even though the bulk of the movie is from the ghosts' perspective you don't know this going into it and it just appears to be a classic haunting scenario. Very atmospheric. I think Henry James' The Turn of the Screw might have been an inspiration for the story because there are a lot of similar elements.
  2. The Mothman Prophecies (2002) - For me this is perhaps the creepiest of them all and really plays with the ambiguity of the subject to where you can't even classify what's going on. The line between hauntings and "aliens" is blurred to that extent, especially if you are already familiar with the actual case.
  3. Poltergeist (1982) - This one classifies as over-the-top and pushed into unbelievable territory but I've always loved it. The first third to first half is my favorite part; the more subtle stuff and I like the parapsychologists.
  4. The Exorcist (1973) - It starts off with classic poltergeist activity initiated by Regan's playing with a Ouija board. The possession theme fits the category as well and I will be including a couple more like this. Based on THIS.
  5. The Shining (1980) - Do I need to say anything to this one? This was just some creepy ass shit, especially back then when I was a kid.
  6. The Amityville Horror (1979) - Whether these events really happened at all doesn't matter. The fact that it is based on something having happened makes it interesting to me even if it does have the very plausible mundane explanation proposed in the documentary The Real Amityville Horror.
  7. The Haunting (1963) - This is probably the classic archetypal haunted house film. It has all the right trappings and scared the hell out of me what I was a kid. That's all that really matters.
  8. The Sixth Sense (1999) - This one goes slightly against my criteria but it was done so well as a ghost story I have to include it here and it does have some moments that fit the bill for me.
  9. The Innocents (1961) - This one is based on Henry James' The Turn of the Screw. There are a few other movies I know of based on this same story but The Innocents is the one I like the best because it is the most atmospheric and creepy of the three.
  10. The Legend of Hell House (1973) - Very similar to The Haunting but a little darker and very atmospheric. I like the ectoplasm coming out of the medium's fingertips.
  11. Communion (1989) - I include this along similar lines as The Mothman Prophecies. The common thinking/interpretation about this story is that it is "aliens" but really it's about some weird experiences that don't have much of a context. "Alien abduction", like "ghosts", is actually a projected context. I personally find that the phenomena that cause poltergeist activity and hauntings or even "demonic possession" may be no different than what causes these "alien" scenarios. Either way, the creepiness factor is about the same as far as a movie goes and this one is one of the best in portraying these types of experiences. In real life Whitley Strieber had been playing around with The Lesser Key of Solomon to gain inspiration for his horror writing at the time (go figure). He left that bit out of the first book and of course it's not in the movie. He talked about it later.
  12. Paranormal Activity (2007) - This first one really was very good. I just wish it didn't end the way it did. The first 3/4 of the movie was spot on. I think most movies along these lines tend to fall short when they take that creepiness of the subject matter a step further to try to put a pay-off scary ending to the story. Overall it was great though. I guess I'm more intrigued by a door slowly moving on its own.:)
  13. The Changeling (1979) - This movie kind of takes a few cues from The Haunting but doesn't have the same premise. It is very moody and has the theme of a ghost trying to communicate that it was murdered in life. Has some good investigation stuff in it with a séance and automatic writing, etc.
  14. The Blair Witch Project (1999) - I didn't like this movie when I first saw it at the theatre. However, when it came out on DVD and I watched it alone it proved to be a lot of fun to watch. I only include it here because it feels right. The subject was very ambiguous about what was going on; was it a witch, a serial killer, a ghost of a witch, the ghost possessing a serial killer, a ghost possessing one of the film-makers? Who cares? I particularly like the scene when you hear what sound like children laughing outside their tent. It gave me a little chill just typing that and thinking of it.;)
  15. The Entity (1981) - What Poltergeist would have been had it been a little more serious. It is kind of a cross between Poltergeist and Amityville and based on events that are supposed to have happened. Has some interesting paranormal investigating in it with a psychiatrist always trying to reduce the experiences to a strictly mundane explanation. Based on the experiences of Doris Bither.
  16. Insidious (2011) - I thought this was classic material. The directors did a really good job of it until it went a little overboard at the end. But like with a lot of these stories it's a movie and I understand how general audiences would never be satisfied if you keep the subject matter fairly grounded. There is a thread on this movie HERE which I had always meant to reply to but kept forgetting about.
  17. Stir of Echoes (1999) - This is a fairly typical story of an unsolved missing person that was murdered and is of course trying to get attention so that justice can be had. Doesn't matter because the basic idea in the movie of a doorway being opened in the mind by hypnosis that allows the main character to perceive the other side is what I found interesting. Some of how it is portrayed I can also relate to; waking up after really vivid visions/dreams and being extremely thirsty for example. I've been there.
  18. Ghostbusters (1984) - c'mon... If you're going to push it beyond believable you might as well go all the way with it. Like I have always said, if you're going to be stupid don't be half-ass about it.:p I really dig how the beginning starts off with them as sort of eccentric, nutty parapsychologists and has that classic feel to it when they are investigating the library. There is also that little nod to the Simon Necronomicon that doesn't hurt.
  19. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) - Lots of classic paranormal stuff going on overall. Because it is part courtroom drama it is arguing both sides of what is going on which makes it interesting to me. Done rather well for a movie in my opinion. Very loosely based on THIS.
  20. An American Haunting (2005) - Another very moody and atmospheric piece. I never really heard much about this movie but I thought it was good. Based on the Bell Witch legend. According to that wiki link there are some other movies based on the same subject but I haven't seen any other than this.
  21. The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) - This one went way over-the-top for believability overall but its séance scene, which I thought was great, and a few good atmospheric moments saved it for me. They really could have made a more interesting film out of this subject. Based on events surrounding Karen Parker. I tried to find some info online about this but couldn't find anything interesting enough to link here. What little I know of the actual story sounds very bullshitty to me so is probably not worth much more consideration. All that matters is that séance scene in the movie.
I know I'm probably leaving a lot of good ones out but I'll let everyone else fill it in or disagree with my own choices. I'd actually appreciate recommendations for some more good movies along these lines or reminders of the ones I'm forgetting about.:D

For "Q" – dvd copy question…..

  • Posted on September 14, 2011 at 2:09 am
I was wondering... does anyone here have the ability/technology to copy a home made dvd ?

I'm asking because I have an approximately 18 minute dvd that I put together myself of some seriously paranormal activity - and I know that Christopher at least would just love to see it (in fact, a popular TV show offered me some serious cash for it some years ago - IF I would also give them the copyright). Anyway, I'd love to get some copies of it made to give to friends and such... maybe there's even a chance for some income to be had for OC if you'd care to sell it here. I don't want anything but copies - so if it could be parlayed it into some extra cash, OC could keep any/all proceeds...

Before all of my equipment went south on me, I had an array of natural EMF meters and multiple IR video cameras and I used them extensively for this project. I can assure you, no matter what, that you've never seen anything quite like this before :-)

Just wondering....

allenarray SETI Temporarily Shuts Down One of Its Telescope Arrays

Due to a loss of both state and federal budget cuts at the University of California Berkley, the university had to withdraw some of its support of the The Allen Telescope Array used by SETI scientists to monitor signals from outer space SETI principal investigator Franck Marchis revealed on his blog. According to CNN, the array will go back up in 2013, and it’s not the only array that SETI uses to collect transmissions.

Weird pseudoscience, planet earth and the 4 elements

  • Posted on March 12, 2011 at 5:16 am
I was bored today so I began thinking about the compass, the four elements, and the known map of the round planet earth. I think you'll enjoy my insanity. :)

First of all is the West, home of the element of water and on earth the location of North and South America, the fabled lands that shouldn't exist, only oceanic water dumping into the void, and dragons and serpents and other nasties as here is the end of the map, back in the days of the Old World and the flat earth. To the Celts the west was the direction of the Otherworld. The people who lived as far west as possible on the old continent, said that indeed thar be dragons and demons at the end of the map. Only the dead went west. The North American Indians and the South American Indians, lived on the western continent, but they were still later arrivals, and crossed thousands of years before, on the ice bridge, from Asia. Just like Water is the last element and so represents (the beginning of) the Future, these peoples, arrived here late. They also had red skin, the property of devils. Futher indication of being "otherworldly," or from the underworld, West. The actual cities of the Native Americans, reflected almost every culture within them in their building designs, and what they tried as government. The natives were no savages, although maybe they were being from the plane of darkness. None the less, their technology shows a bit of everything, a master of none.
When the Old World peoples came to these lands, they came bearing the Cross, a symbol of the sun god, Christ, and the warrior light, which is also a sacrificer. They wiped out alot of the Indians, giving death to the death element, but brought about the most advanced civilization in the world, and a true technology to the element of the Kali Yuga and the Future, the USA. The USA would go on to police and so kind of rule, the whole world.

Then there is the North, the element of Earth. Greedy civilizations, like Europe, and the barren wastes of North Asia. Representing the two halves of the Earth element, Dark and Light, but under Dark, and so as chaos and the higher as rulers over the lesser malevolently, instead of giving and gracefully. The Norse were wild believers in a Universe, light and good, but ultimately ruled and fated by Darkness. Thus the legend of Ragnarok, and how souls unless dying fiercely in battle, were all destined to rot in the underworld, a few even burn in the goddess and realm, Hel. The natives of the Siberian Peninsula, were avid demon worshipers and the only real peoples to worship the powers of darkness as a culture. They represented the lower half of Earth.

Thirdly there is the East, Air. Asia is the land of the East, there is also the Middle East, but this is a split of lower Earth, North, and Higher South, Fire, with only the more eastern East as Asia and the true Air element region. In the east technology is existant, and great Imperialship exists, as there is both the one (Light) and the many (Darkness), and the great eastern king rules over them, but later is sacrified by them, to rule themselves. Knowlege, and esoteric teachings, prevade the east, and the peoples commonly look like monkies, the yellow man, as the monkey is a symbol of the Air element. The East would rule the world, through information, and majority, like the USA rules through might and Ellesian Underworld, freedom and unity, but secretly out of darker agendas.

Lastly comes the South, the Fire element. Kept the least civilized, a thing of the Future, the South is home to many "primitive," peoples, like the earliest days of North, the first half of West, and never really the East. Their skins are black, a color of Water, but is it? Black light is black, but black matter is white, as all the colors are absorbed, instead of reflected. The secret of the beings of Fire, to be black to absorb the intense heat and light, instead of white and reflect it, thus burning. Thus when white man said the negro was of the lower and the Devil, he had it upside down. The peaceful mostly blacks, were easily partilly conquered by the Earthly whites, the upper earth, the ruler gone bad. But this only happened to a few blacks in regard to all of them in the South, and so Africa mostly. Besides Africa there is also Antarctica, a stange small land for being in the Element of Fire, South. But not when you realize the Ultimate is also a Void, but not a rough void like in Water, but a smooth and short void. Plus snow and ice is the color white, a crystal like sustainance, unlike restrictive matter which blocks light. It's also the secret to Yin and Yang, an eye or dot of the both exists in the center of each.

Akasha, the center of the compass. Some can be said of Akasha or Spirit, too in relation to the planet earth. The great holy land of the Middle east, other than India, which isn't too far East, but more Aerial none the less, is home to not only the oldest civilizations, but the homeland of the dawn of man, both in the creationist and evolutionist theories. The center of the compass, where Akasha meets the 4 elements. Not a 5th element as Akasha represents the holistic, and so the whole, where as the elements represent the part, or pieces.

So is the planet earth merely a planet in a vast Cosmos, or is the Cosmos the planet earth? Or is this just another reflection of the hermetic As Above, So Below, or the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, the man to the cosmos, or a planet to the cosmos. Or have I just invented a bunch of pseudotheory crap, which can happen in over intellectualizing any symbolic system? You decide, but I hope you enjoyed something new and unique, none the less. :)

I see skeptics appear on here from time to time and I thought I would post this video. Very interesting and very informative. I personally can perform telekinesis regularly, but I won't take the James Randi Million Challenge because I don't have the money to fly to where they want me to test and I can't perform it under a sealed glass, which they require. I suspect these types of problems are why others don't take the challenge. Also as many who get seriously into psi/chi/prana/kia/spirit/etc, also get into magic (long range or non personal type of psychic abilities), as they go hand in hand, they can get as much money as they want (or needed) by their abilities. These are just the scientific types, open to testing, as some are restricted by magical or religious taboos to not show the mundane.

Psi-Fi: The Feedback Loop Between Pop Culture and Paranormal Experience

  • Posted on February 6, 2011 at 11:30 am

Temple51 Psi Fi: The Feedback Loop Between Pop Culture and Paranormal Experience
A painting from the Wat Rong Khun Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand from FEEL

Interesting article by Professor in Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University and author of Authors of the Impossible Jeffrey J. Kripal on the feedback loops between paranormal experience (or what Susan Blackmore calls “exceptional human experiences”) and popular culture:

A Buddhist temple featuring Superman and a Marvel comic reproducing an actual UFO photo? A pulp fiction editor using his own precognitive dreams to write short stories and a sci-fi master getting zapped by an alien space machine? What is going on here? It would be easy to fall into an either-or mentality, as in “This happened, and that didn’t.” or “This is true, and that is false.” That, I want to suggest, is precisely what is wrong with much of our thinking about popular culture and the paranormal. Much better to pay attention to all the back-and-forth loops, that is, the incredibly messy, “loopy” ways in which popular culture informs paranormal events, which in turn informs popular culture, which in turn informs … well, you get my point. I mean, where exactly are we supposed to draw a line between the real and the unreal in, say, a graphic novel and an actual UFO sighting? It would be easy to suggest that the graphic novel is pure fiction and the UFO—whatever it was—non-fiction, except for the uncomfortable fact that the UFO encounters of the second half of the twentieth century often followed, down to precise details, the pulp fiction fantasies of the first half (for more on this, see my discussion of Bertrand Méheust in Authors of the Impossible). It would also be easy to call it all fiction, except for the uncomfortable fact that people really experience such things, all the time. There were F-16s chasing that floating Wal-Mart. Not your typical piece of fiction.

Boing Boing: Psi-Fi

This reminds me a lot of Erik Davis’s book TechGnosis. Erik, incidentally, is now a student at Rice.

Hypnagogic/Hypnopompic Hallucinations

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 5:27 am
I awoke early this morning to someone or something intensely rubbing my back. At first I thought it was my girlfriend but as I was waking up to it I became aware that there wasn't really anyone there; my girlfriend being in the shower getting ready for work. Fully awake I continued to allow the experience for about a minute before I shrugged it off. As soon as I moved the sensation turned to a tingling all over the body starting where the original sensation was taking place and then went away.

I've had these kinds of experiences most of my life so it's nothing new to me and probably nothing new to most people here. I was just wondering what some of you make of these kinds of hypnagogic/hypnopompic "hallucinations". Thoughts? Opinions? Theories? Personal experiences?

Is it possible?…

  • Posted on January 29, 2011 at 6:39 pm
Well, I don't know if this the right forum for my question, so if it's not, moderators please move it...

I'm dealing with a strange problem for a longer period and I'm starting to wonder, if it's possible, that there are people, that are not really human, I don't know how to describe, and more than ever, I don't know, what they could be else...

To explain what it's about:

Last summer, some guy just appeared out of nowhere, first he told me, he were a shaman.
To make it short, this guy was trying to kill me magickally all the time, actually he followed me on the astral plane even half a year before he appeared in "reality", I just found out, that this was him way too late...
So I tried everything (and I'm not squeamish in choosing my methods) to get rid of him, but nothing's gonna stop him and that's weird, cause if he were just a man, he shouldn't be there anymore, I'm sure about that.
Fact ist, things are even getting worse every day, he's trying to take over my daughter (attacking her in her dreams), he's following me all the time on the astral plane, and he's kind of ripping on me more and more.
That's all I want to tell about that for now, just waiting for a reaction...

My question, is ist possible, that he is not really human at all? I mean, I've seen him in real life and he looked just like a normal guy, but he's just way too strong to be real... (And just besides, later on, he always told me, he's not really human, he was talking about beeing kind of a guardian from HEL, but I was just laughing about this all the time, thought he must be a little bit crazy, I'm just not sure about that anymore...)
I don't know, maybe I'm just loosing my mind.

So if anyone has an idea, what he could be and what could help me out of this, I'd be very grateful!

Thanx in advance!
Cassandra

Odd text appearing

  • Posted on January 13, 2011 at 12:16 am
Hello Occult Corpus! I've got a bit of random oddness to report. A while back I was working on some documents, typing stuff up in my word processor. When I finished my typing, I copied the entire thing and pasted it all into Adobe InDesign for editing/beautification purposes.

The odd thing was that, after pasting what I had written into InDesign, I found the following text way at the bottom of the last page. I hadn't written it, and had never seen it anywhere before. It might also be worth noting that I had been reading up on Enochian magic at the time, so magical languages and such had been on my mind.

"Tem veleseq uamcommy nonsenit lore magna con et, veliquam, susto doloreet dipisse quipsustrud del utetue modo od et, quat, con henissed miniat. Essit, si blam"

So I was wondering if anyone might be able to read this or at least recognize what language (if any) it might be. I thought at first that it was Enochian, but as far as I've been able to tell, it isn't. In fairness though, I still don't have the best grasp on the system (most of what I found just gave a general history of Enochian), so I could be wrong.

I have a ghost. His name is Charlie.

I dont talk about Charlie. People know about him. The weird things that happen.

I have been asked point blank if i have a ghost and i always lie.

I picked him up from a different state on a visit. They were afraid of him and i talked to him. I said that i really dont want to be bothered and please leave me alone. Dead people are people after all. No reason to be rude.

He followed me home. It dosn't bother me. He wants to talk. I cant hear him and i cant see him. But i can feel him.

So, paranormal people, how do i speak to my ghost?

Boards are out of the question. They straight up freak me out.

Jonas Elrod was leading an ordinary life until he woke up one day to a totally new reality. He suddenly could see and hear angels, demons, auras and ghosts.

The documentary movie WAKE UP follows this fascinating story of an average guy who inexplicably developed the ability to access other dimensions. Physicians gave him a clean bill of health and were unable to provide an explanation. What was it? Why was it happening to him? One thing was certain for this 36-year old man – life as he had known it would never be the same.

More Fortean than paranormal, just some interesting short articles and videos.

This short film is about a piece of footage found behind the scenes in Charlie Chaplins film 'The Circus'. Attending the premiere at Manns Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA - the scene shows a large woman dressed in black with a hat hiding most of her face, with what can only be described as a mobile phone device - talking as she walks alone. Some believe this to be a hearing aid.

[Article] Zen … and the Art of Debunkery – Or, How to Debunk Just About Anything

  • Posted on December 9, 2010 at 5:28 pm
So you've had a close encounter with a UFO or its occupants. Or maybe you've experienced an "impossible" healing or a perfectly cogent conversation with your dead uncle, and you've begun to suspect that the official view of reality isn't the whole picture. Mention any of these things to most working scientists and be prepared for anything from patronizing cynicism to merciless ridicule. After all, science is a purely hard-nosed enterprise that should have little patience for "expanded" notions of reality. Right?

Wrong.

Like all systems of truth-seeking, the scientific method, applied with integrity, has a profoundly expansive, liberating impulse at its core. This "Zen" in the heart of science is revealed when the practitioner sets aside arbitrary beliefs, cultural preconceptions and groupthink, and approaches the nature of things with "beginner's mind." Given the freedom to express itself, reality can speak freshly and freely, and can be heard more clearly. Appropriate testing and objective validation can -- indeed, must -- come later.

Seeing with humility, curiosity and fresh eyes was once the main point of science. But today it is often a different story. As the scientific enterprise has been bent toward exploitation, commercialization, institutionalization, hyperspecialization and new orthodoxy, it has increasingly preoccupied itself with disconnected facts in a psychological, social and ecological vacuum. So divorced has official science become from the greater scheme of things, that it tends to deny or disregard entire domains of reality and to satisfy itself with reducing all of life and consciousness to a dead physics.

In forgetting that all knowledge is provisional and subject to new discovery, mainstream science seems to be treading the weary path of the ossified religions it presumed to replace. Where free, dispassionate inquiry once reigned, emotions now run high in the defense of a fundamentalized "Scientific Truth." As anomalies mount up beneath a sea of denial, defenders of the Faith and the Kingdom cling with increasing self-righteousness to the hull of a leaking paradigm. Faced with provocative evidence of things undreamt of in their philosophy, many otherwise mature scientists revert to a kind of reactive infantilism characterized by blind faith in the absoluteness of the familiar.

Small wonder, then, that so many promising fields of inquiry remain shrouded in superstition, ignorance, denial, disinformation, taboo . . . and debunkery.

[Article] Vallee: Author of the Impossible

  • Posted on December 5, 2010 at 5:57 am
The following article is a modified excerpt from Jeffrey Kripal's "Authors of the Impossible". In his book, Kripal surveys the history of psychical phenomena, which he contends is an untapped source of insight into the sacred and an important but overlooked field of religious study. Kripal grounds his study in the work of four major figures in the history of paranormal research: psychical researcher Frederic Myers; writer and humorist Charles Fort; astronomer, computer scientist, and UFOlogist Jacques Vallee; and, philosopher Bertrand Meheust.

Jacques Vallee’s The Invisible College (1975) represents a development of the ideas and theories first set out six years earlier in his seminal book on the crossovers between UFOs and folklore, Passport to Magonia. There would be other developments and ideas, of course, but it is probably not too much of an exaggeration to suggest that these two books constitute the heart and soul of Vallee's thinking on the subject of UFOs. That the first is named after a legendary land in the clouds whose existence was denied by a major representative of the Church and the second after a group of contemporary intellectuals interested in paranormal matters who were meeting secretly in the late 1960s and 70s out of fear that such interests would threaten their academic and professional standing in the universities should alert us to the "impossible" nature of their subject matter from the perspectives of faith or reason. Vallee is perfectly aware of this. He states very clearly that his speculations "will contradict both the ideas of the believers and the assumptions of the skeptics" (IC 28). Again, beyond faith and reason there is gnosis.

Introducing the Sprint BLUFO!

  • Posted on November 19, 2010 at 4:53 pm
Yet another hard-to-fake mass UFO sighting:

This article could also be titled "Why Cellphones Need Better Cameras." I propose the Cellphone companies use some of their 'surcharges' (Surprise+Charges) to put better damn cameras inside their phones. In honor of the Alien's apparent blessing, they could call it the BLUFO.

Just a quick question…

  • Posted on September 30, 2010 at 12:03 pm
Hey.

So, the situation is, there is a spirit apparently bound in a classroom at my school, and tomorrow, I'm going to try banishing it.

But, is there any way to release a bound spirit without destroying it? I'm almost certain it's one of those kinds who have a material base, and I already have ascertained its sigilised form and its anthropomorphic image. But I like this one. It seems friendly. So, I want to find a way to release it from being bound in the classroom, but not destroy it or transfer it to another mateial base.

Any ideas?

Experiences with Punk Rock spirit

  • Posted on September 20, 2010 at 12:37 am
I can't tell you who he is. it just can't. You probably wouldn't know him anyways. You know, punk bands and stuff. Well this was one of my first things I have ever done. Serious things other than
astrology and conspiracy study. I wrote a pact and I singed it with blood. I was very serious when I wrote it. I have such a desire to play music and be recognized for it to the point I can't sleep at night. I'm a decent song-writer but I suck at guitar. Theres more to him than his guitar that I need help with but i'mnot going to go into details. It's personal.

I left the pact under my bed and kept a lantern lit. I talked to the spirit and told him why I was worth his time and empathized with his feelings and gave him respect. My sympathy is limited but my empathy has always been very strong. Along with passion and desire. He has the same desires as me and same feelings I think this is why he came. I fell asleep talking to him and asking him to "seep into me"

I fell asleep and was all of a sudden woken by sleep paralysis and heard foot steps.. I was in some "astral" bedroom that was dark. There was a door what was partly open. It shined a pink/orange color. I fought my way out o the paralysis and woke up. I sat up in my bed and asked the spirit if it was him.
A grey black and white being came being me and acutally seeped into me and I passed out and woke up around 4:00AM. I felt like I was in some
time tunnel in a cartoon. It made a slow-motion noise. It was loud, fast and deep.

This happed in May this year. On a early Friday morning. It happened around 3:AM.

I have gotten better since than. The strumming patterns. There exactly like his and I don't get any pain with my carpel tunnel problems. His way of playing was very excruciating and people have a hard time with the pain. I don't. I don't need to practice.......but my chords need work so i'm taking lessons. A group of people stared at me in the park when playing.
It was an electric guitar without the amp but they were
crowding around and staring for some reason. They had weird looks on there
faces. an amazed look but weirded out. Like they were figuring out what the
heck was going on with me.

It's good. I feel purpose and a good ambition drive. I have become very serious though. Also more angry than usual. The entity had an anger problem but had a good job controlling it and good set of morals. I don't have a lot of feminine feelings I never did but now.....I feel no emotions but anger and passion. I don't cry easily over things. I don't mind it. I don't want to be a crybaby like I was. I have feelings of tyranny. I feel power hungry. I'm trying to control it. Nobody wants to play music with Margarette Thatcher. I can
control my anger but I wait and take it home with me and have tantrums at home.

Physically I have gained better muscle tone. My family is proud for the weight loss. I have been off psychiatric medications for very mild autism and ADHD
I did so well getting off of them. I felt better and decided to do the ritual.
but still.......when I wasn't on them I never had this hard belly.
The hair on my arms and legs seems longer and thicker than usual. It's fine cause im fair but still its kind of gross. I might have eneded up with an attachment or a manifestion of this spirits enegery.
Can male attachments affect hormone levels?

I do have some mild mental disorders that affect me socially awkward.
I have had help all my life. They do make me hyper focus on subjects that i''m interested in so thats good.
But I don't tell anyone about my experience because I could have schizophrenia added to the list. I didn't develop schizoid symptoms until
I started getting involved in occult subjects. When your socially ostracized I guess you kind of turn to the spirits.

I went to deep

  • Posted on September 18, 2010 at 10:23 am
Hello all, the name is Atrum and I have a very serious situation on my hands.

A handful of my friends and I for about 5 years now have been delving into the area of Spirit Magic and a few weeks ago I was preforming my usual foray into the spirit world when I felt a presence and there was a loud bang. I immediately saw that my desk lamp had traveled from the desk to the opposite wall. At the time I thought absolutely nothing of it and continued with my business after setting the lamp back on the desk. Nothing else happened that day.
(that should have been enough to tell me I was out of my league right there)

2 days Later I feel the presence again as I am lying on my bed doing nothing in particular. This is when I got the first Inkling of what I had on my hands, my eyes were half closed and I thought I saw something out of the corner of one of them. From what I could see before it vanished it looked perfectly human but obviously wasn't, even barely looking at it gave me the chills, and I had a very negative feel.

A day after that I heard a voice in my head that asked me what my name was, having read like furious over the last few days I (hopefully) did the right thing and didn't answer, all my senses are at this point practical screaming Demon. The most unnerving part was it said it could wait and that it would check back later.

Next day again I feel the presence and am asked what my name is, again no reply and whatever it is repeats that it can wait and will check back later. It should be noted that neither of my parents are spiritual in any way and would send my to a psychiatrist if they knew I was doing any of this.

Over the course of the next week every day I give the demon no answer, and it always says it will check back later. It's gotten pretty bad, over the period of the week leading up to this date the questions have gotten trickier and harder not to answer. The last couple days it has actually tried to make casual conversation before leaving me alone.

In a phrase, I need help or at least advice ASAP. None of my friends know but I have told them that they should lay low for a while. Any help any can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Secluded Crossroads….

  • Posted on September 2, 2010 at 9:15 am
I suppose this is a good place to put this....

A few days ago, I was out in the forest, something like a mile from home, when I came across the oddest thing... A foot path I was following suddenly spread out into a halfway decent sized (unpaved) road; right in the middle of nowhere. To top it off, a hundred or so feet purther in, another road bisected it, Making it into a perfect crossrad - complete with an empty post for a sign. The oddest part is that none of the branches of the road continued for more an 150 feet or so before deteriorating back into a vague foot trail.

Now, I was originally out looking for a place to camp that was closer to home, especially in regard to my heading out on the solstices and the occassional full moon. Given all of the folk lore involving crossrads, especially desolate ones, my curiosity has definitely been piqued. I am really, really considering using this place for whatever I decide to do for Samahin this year.

I'm wondering what the rest of you make think of this plan. I do not, and will not be trying my hand at invoking or any other rituals, and no, I'm not interested in "making any deals with anyone or anything"... but it just looks too interesting to pass up on.... I think I'll just have to put up a tent here sometime soon :-)...

Thoughts ?

Michael

Bats in the Belfry?

  • Posted on July 21, 2010 at 3:38 pm
I have a friend who is experiencing nightly visits by some weird beings (she's crazy, but not insane. or stupid.) the latest and most frequent of which appears as a black, silhouetted humanoid with glowing red eyes, a bat's head and bat wings.
This brings to mind a few things:
VERN from the arcade game "Rampage"
The Shadow People
"Old Red Eye" from the Aussie outback

But most strikingly, Camazotz (or just "Zotz") as detailed below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camazotz

Camazotz lives in Xibalba.

Quite a few of her friends are having similar encounters, and they all live in northern "Greater Denver," but not all in the same town.

I wish I could post more details, but instead I will try to woo her onto this site and let her share what she feels comfortable sharing. (her visits aren't all mean, but the bat ones are always malevolent and cause bruises and bleeding, among other things.) Anyone got any info that might help my friend?

PS-- Jehu, what's your educated oppinion?
