I was wondering about infractions on this website. If there is a punishment system, shouldn't there also be an award system?
Otherwise it's like sending prisioners to jail, with no time off for good behavior and in jail work, or rehabilitation programs?
I think the reputation system and the thank you system could be a starter, but also just keeping an eye on staying on topic and helpful posts, when questions are asked?
One can tell an offensive joke, maybe without even thinking about it, and get an infraction here, but how does one do good deeds?
I realize this isn't preschool nor is it a government run website, but a personal one gave out for the public and you can do what you damn well please. But, it is a community, thus the only real reason to have rules, else only something like hacking would get the moderators intrests.
Anyway just an idea. I have two infractions and although it doesn't restrict access or anything, I feel like I'm on the "OC outlaw list," and must watch my every step else possibly be banned next.
For anyone who's curious my first infraction was by calling the moderators "dicks," and comparing them to cops. Which I thought was obvious joking, but I was mistaken.
My second, was for calling a guy who I thought sarcasticly posted that he drew triangles on his chest and invoked goetic demons, a demonolater, which if he does as he says, that is the definition of the word. In the goetia to use no god names, circles, triangles, etc, and in/evoke demons is to worship them, not command them with divine authority.
Anyway, unfair or not, I got two infractions, and now I want to clean my record. Is there anyway to do this?
