Manifesto of the Magickal Order Guardia Roja de Aztlan

  • Posted on March 12, 2011 at 6:48 am
Long live the shamanic cultural revolution! Long live the glorious Revolutionary Nahuallis, Long live the sacred Chol’qij calendar! Long live the broad masses of people! It is for our brothers, the proletariat, that I write this Manifesto, so that they may rise up in unison and take down goliath with one stroke. Babylon will crumble, and in its place, in the womb of the old, will be born the new. A new society will spring from the ashes of old and overtake this planet like no other force in the world. Our brothers must arm themselves to the teeth not with weapons but with spiritual knowledge, for the conquest of shamanic power and for the conquest of peoples minds. We must become fishermen of men’s souls.

But to do that we must train, train ourselves in the most arcane and ascetic arts. We must bind ourselves by blood to the occult so that we may bring new knowledge to the people. This knowledge will give them the sharpest weapon with which to attack our oppressors, not with darkness, but with blinding white light. We are the workers of light. Our fight is a fierce but peaceful one. We strive for the transformation of the spirit by the Great Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the great Creator which is Ometeotl, the dual-creator god and the supreme ruler of the universe. To him, we must pray, as well as pray to his messengers, the Great Aztec Powers.

In the name of Tonatiuh, Our Lord the Burning Sun and the true giver of life, I invoke thee too guide us on our path towards revolution. In you we have faith and in your Divine Wisdom we surrender ourselves. We humble ourselves before you, Tonatiuh, and to your brothers and sisters we humbly pray for sustenance, fulfillment, and splendor. But we are fighting a spiritual war, and the only way to transform the outcome of this fight is to train ourselves in the art of magickal power. To accomplish this task, we must first find paradigms that will aid us in transforming our consciousness to the level necessary in order to acquire true shamanic power. Through different practices such as the using the Cholq’ij, shamanic journeying, and setting up a spirit pot or nganga, we will begin to achieve what we’ve been longing for.

In order to create a magickal order of a new type, one that sustains itself on the energy of its members, we must all come together to bind the different traditions into one, which is what we call Palo Mexica. Palo Mexica is the guiding religion and ideology of the GRA and will continue to be a guiding light by which we tread upon the righteous path of liberation. Ours is a liberation of the soul and spirit. Hidden deep within the practices of Palo Mexica are the cures we seek, for with this new and revolutionary ideology we may come to understand ourselves, including our own weaknesses and our strengths.

Palo Mexica is about connecting with Creator on a level comparable to communicating with the highest spirit. You must find your spiritual guides among the Aztec gods and bind yourself to that deity in order to find yourself. The sacred Cholq’ij calendar can guide you in your choosing of a god to worship as your patron. You must learn the rituals of the Revolutionary Nahualli in order to develop yourself in the acquisition of the powers to shapeshift into animals so that your connection with the spirit world will become permanent. You will attain the strengths of your nagual and use its vision to do spiritual development work.

The Revolutionary Nahualli is influenced by the following traditions: Aztec and Maya Shamanism, Palo Mayombe, Santeria, Chaos Magick, and Mexican Curanderismo. These traditions provide a foundation on which we could build this new ideology. We must take from these different trends and practices what is relevant to the practice of Aztec god adoration and working with the lower spirits of the Aztec pantheon in order to defeat our oppressors by our sheer numbers alone. Imagine millions with the knowledge and wisdom of the Revolutionary Nahualli. We must arm their mighty hands with the spiritual power necessary to tackle down the bourgeoisie and the religion of the conquerors.

The GRA is not only a magickal order but also a revolutionary organization with ideals stemming from such influences as the Bolivarian Revolution, Prachanda Path from Nepal, and other radical movements across the planet. We are definatenly socialists, revolutionary nationalists, and believe in the idea of Aztlan. Aztlan means giving the earth back to the people it was stolen from through the Mexican-American War. We are in our spiritual homeland and reserve the right to fight for it with our magickal skill if others depended on it. We are not dogmatic about our ideals and stress a peaceful resolution to society’s ills.

The Great Aztec Powers want this land to be given back to the indigenous people of Mesoamerica. It is our duty to fulfill this task. We will not parish into the night! Our dreams will guide us and will prove prophetic, but I implore to you, rise up and take up arms in the spirit world. Wield your mighty hand. If we develop an advanced magickal consciousness in the proletariat, there’s no stopping us. In order to defeat the forces of evil in the this world, we must make councils and drumming circles in which we could learn and practice magick and shamanism.

We must build Calmemacs as schools of magick shamanism and curanderismo in order to attain a greater understanding of the Divine Wisdom of Ometeotl the Creator. These Calmecacs will be the revolutionary building blocks necessary build revolutionary actions against the bourgeoisie. We will shamanic journey in order to push forward this revolution until we topple institutional ideologies forever. We could create a force so powerful in the spirit world that every spirit on earth will want to work with these Revolutionary Nahuallias.

Palo Mexica encourages the development of new techniques in order to achieve an altered state of consciousness or trance through which you may make the movement of movements towards revolution an even greater reality. You will use your spiritual allies and totems in order to not only heal the afflictions of your fellow men, but also defend yourself from enemies with shields of power that we learn to form as we develop ourselves as nahuallis.

As the world crisis deepens, our faith in the gods still get stronger and overpower our enemies and leave them powerless to our influence. We must create an organized force that is militant enough to follow through our plans of fostering a shamanic cultural revolution that will create an environment conductive for human development by spiritual means. So then there is still hope for man as we make our way toward the New Sun in the year 2012, when the showdown will commence, we will be ready with our collective intelligence and power and we will crush you with everything we’ve got.

The Cholq’ij will connect us more with nature and we will treat the earth, Our Mother, better as it deserves to be treated. For this, we must come to power. But the nature of cultural revolution is different than political or social revolution. A cultural revolution doesn’t have to topple a government or waste its resources on fighting a real war. The cultural revolution is created in the minds of people and what we use is our minds our hearts and our voice. We will be victorious.

How I Became a Shaman

  • Posted on February 5, 2011 at 12:43 am
Four years ago, I was going to college studying Chicano Studies as my major. While I was there, me and a few friends got together to create an informal, collectively organized study group or unofficial club that rallied around the use and experimentally applying the sacred Maya calendar for the purposes of fomenting a Shamanic Cultural Revolution. I wasn't a shaman yet, but I was interested in its perspective of reality and how it bent you to your limits in terms of flexing your knowledge and your power. I read books, and talk with friends about it, and we did Astrological work through the calendar with each other until we all achieved a certain mastery of the divinatory calendar of 260 days, the Cholq'ij. We invented different forms of presentations for the symbols of the calendar that is we invented a handheld calendar that you could create any juxtaposition of day-sign and numbers (1-13). But at this point, we were all sympathetic towards socialism so we were going to create an official club that discussed topics like both shamanism and socialist revolution.

The friend that helped me create this organization, Student Vanguard Nexxus, also had an interest in the calendar, but not as refined as my own mastery. We were going to hold calendar how-to workshops on campus and read the day-signs for people to make some money for the club. But after a bout of solitude and reflection, I thought that I was done with school, that it had nothing to offer a person like me, a person now realizing that their vocation is shamanism, and that their life is set. I had previously had many prophetic dreams that told me about what was about to happen to me in a very direct way. In one dream, I was shipped off with all my things to what seemed at the time to be a boarding house, but I would later discover that it would manifest in my going to the mental hospital, where I spent a few weeks, why which I will tell you later.

But everything was set, and the club was going to go into motion, but I simply left, and left the responsibility on m friend, who I later discovered quit school later that semester, but was it shame? I don't know. But he left. And the revolution died with us. I left school to become a shaman. I wanted to build my own business, open a Botanica, so that I could heal (for free) but sell what is needed for patient's rituals and ceremonies. I want to be a healer, although I don't have the healing touch, what I lack in instincts I compensate for with intelligence.

My heart was set on building and constructing a new, revolutionary kind of botanica, one that would pursue a policy of pursuing a new revolutionary reality as will manifest in the world in the year 2012, a spiritual revolution of a new type, in which man will come into harmony with all the divine forces and forever trust in the shamans advice and work. I proposed, then, a new revolutionary society based on basic socialistic principals of from each according to their ability, to each according to their need. Also, I proposed a society of shamans or shamanically run governments that had as the head of state a shaman of vast ceremonial capacities and supernatural powers.

I had many out of body experiences at this time, but they were all in dreams and didin't affect me quite as much as it might have had it been in a trance state. This lead me to question whether or not I possesed shamanic powers. Later I found out that these dreams were in the Middle World. In search of my power, I had many visions in dreams. I met certain gods and went to certain places, dark, dismembering places. But I was untouchable. Nothing could do me in.

And then it came on the day 12-Lamat. The day means "it ripens," "harvest." It was time that something powerful happened, something powerful manifested. I read an article on astral projection, smoked a bowl, and went to sleep. But I wasn't asleep. I was in a deep trance state, and then I had a sensation around my root chakra. It exploded and its power went up my spine and through my bones and I felt my chakras literally spinning at a million miles an hour. And then I felt my soul leave my body and I had but one thought: her.

I had a dream that night about a girl I use to know in high school. Everything was black except for her. I got closer and she talked to me about something, small talk, you know? But then I started involuntarily fusing with her. And then I woke up. My dreams crossed with that of another living person. And this created a chain reaction. That morning when I woke up, the day 13 Muluc which means "to pay," "illness, pain." When I woke up, I heard her voice. She was now trapped in my body. I could hear her voice saying that I had to shamanic journey to get her out of my body. She wanted me to kill myself. She could feel everything I felt and see and hear everything I could. Three days later, after having suicidal thoughts, I told my dad to take me to the mental hospital. So they took me.

I shamanic journeyed every single day, seemingly involuntarily but with a purpose. To try and get the spirit I h ave trapped inside me to leave. And so began my quest. We because adversaries. Enemies. She hated me for what I did to her and I hated her for what she was about to do. She could imitate any voice on the planet. She could do masculine voices quite well. She imitates spirits and lead to me to believe many lies and delusional thoughts fed by her action and her anger.

I was in the mental hospital for three weeks, and then I was released. The more I interacted with this voice, the more shamanic power I began to receive. I began to do my rituals. I began to beat my drum and shake my rattle. I began to dance my power animal! I began to do banishing rituals and consecration rituals, healing rituals for my family. My family has also been turned more spiritual as a result of my condition, which they classify as schizophrenia. But it is not a mental illness, it's a spiritual illness. I have an intrusion in my body. I also have a fragment of my soul missing. I need a soul retrieval. I've done it myself, but perhaps i'm not doing it correctly.

I have gotten used to the spirit, but I've met many more spirits since. I've learned how to banish any other kind of spirit to the point of sheer mastery. But I am still a holy fool. A wounded healer. My ally is spirit of the Wolf. I think and act like a wolf. My patron god is Chalchiuhtotolin, a symbol of powerful sorcery. He is the aztec turkey god, god pestilence, but he could also change your predestined fate. He's the only god that could do that. I then had a vision of the sun god Tonatiuh, the ruler of this age of nahui ollin, the fifth sun. I heal now only among friends and family. But some day, I will build my botanica, and I will build in it a calmecac, an aztec school of divination and astrology, so that my quest is tottally fulfilled. I'm about to go back to work at a Botanica. My healing is complete. I could now trust myself when healing others. I know a lot about the spirit world. I could control my dreams. I could control my state of consciousness in stillness or sensory overload. I am a shaman. . .

Spirit Helpers

  • Posted on October 30, 2010 at 8:19 am
According to Mr. Michael Harner, the next thing the prospective shaman must do after acquiring a guardian spirit is a large crew of spirit helpers. These spirit helpers can be be of the animal, plant, or mineral family or even otherwise. How do you acquire a large crew of them and for what purposes do you employ such spirit helpers. I've heard that the collective power of a crew of spirit helpers is equivalent to one guardian spirit. The more spirit helpers, the more powerful a shaman.

I've also heard that you could gather plant spirit helpers by ingesting various non-poisonous plants. You could come to posses literally hundreds. Also by collecting and working with rock spirits. All rocks have a certain vibration that determines what effect it will have upon your consciousness and your body, particularly the spirit body, or auric cacoon (aura). Animal spirits other than your guardian spirits can also be considered spirit helpers, although one may argue that you could come to have more than one guardian spirit, but I find this difficult to believe myself.

Where do I find these spirits that I seek. What about the spirits of the dead, like ancestors, deceased shamans and otherwise. I could dream and astral project to Tlalocan and Mictlan in search of such spirits. The vast geography of the aztec spirit world is literally limitless, and is also a place big enough to get lost in. Many trials lay ahead for those who want to go into the lowerworld or celestial paradises. My guide in Mictlan, the land of the dead, is San Simon Judas or Maximon. He takes me on his canoe from the middle world plane, the ordinary mode of existence or reality, down into the underworld where we travel along the river of the dead, which is filled with potentially thousands of spirit helpers in human form.

So whether it be animal, plant, rock, or human, spirit helpers are detrimental to any working shaman that seeks to heal by invoking his helping spirits. How to work beyond this is a total mystery to me. Although I have had my share of practice in communicating with the spirit worlds, the answer to my question still eludes me. How to keep track of the many helping spirits we have. Do you go for quality or quantity that is do you get close to a small number or focus on possessing many, thus working from the sheer magnitude of the number rather than their closeness to you.

Yours in the struggle,
--Teopiltzin

Aztec/Olmec/Maya artifacts – photos

  • Posted on October 14, 2010 at 11:13 am
I wasn't sure if this should be posted in art or not. But I thought those interested in Indigenous Paths would be interested in these photos my wife took at her job. If this isn't the right place, I can move it. Anyway, my wife works in the lab at the Museum of Man in San Diego. http://www.museumofman.org/

To the public, the museum isn't very big. There's a main room that has two levels. It has a giant Mayan Stele in the center of the room. Most of the other exhibits rotate between different cultures throughout the year. Across a foot bridge that goes across the street is a room with maybe 7 or 8 mummies (it's been a while. I can't quite remember.)

But what most people don't know, and what I didn't know until my wife got a job there, is that underground there is a vast warehouse full of artifacts that have never, and will never be on display. That's where my wife works. I'm so jealous. Anyway, here are the photos she sent me of some Aztec/Olmec/Maya artifacts with a couple bonus artifacts thrown in.

Nagual experimentation

  • Posted on September 29, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Hi guys,

So, I've been experimenting quite a bit with the Yaqui concept of the Tonal and the Nagual, as described in the works of Carlos Castaneda. One concept that Ive been pondering on is whether something that has passed from the Nagual to the Tonal can then pass back to the Nagual again?

Yes, anyones first impression would be that such a thing would be impossible - you cant go from a state of physical existence to physical non-existence as youd leave behind a trace of your passing, and would therefore have a Tonal presence, but what about non-material things? Could thought for instance return to the Nagual once someone had thought it but it had been completely forgotten?

Basically, when something is brought into existence can it ever not exist again, or is it permanently bound to the Tonal even when it is completely erased from the minds of humankind?

Wondering, wondering...

Clown-Speak

  • Posted on July 12, 2010 at 9:36 am
Almost 10 years ago, I was reading a book of trivia facts @ the school Library, and I came accross something about some Australian Aboriginal tribe (Bushmen) having a secret code which they used in ceremonial settings or among those of high status. It was called "speaking Clown" and it is a language where you replace as many words in a sentance as you can with their antonyms. Here is an example:

"Without rice, even the cleverest housewife cannot cook."

Translation:

"With rice, even the stupidest husband can eat."

Unfortunately, for all my efforts I cannot find any reference to this Clown language on the Web. Has anyone else heard of it?
