Reoccurring Spider Dreams and Hypnogogic Hallucinations

A few months ago I moved into a new house. Since moving into the new home, I have dreamed of spiders multiple times and this is not usual for me. Also, I have had hypnogogic hallucinations of spiders three times now.

After one night where I had a very strong hypnogogic hallucination of spiders and webs covering my bedroom, spiders connected their web to my car at my house and I ran into the w

Communicating with spirit/servitor/what-have-you in dreams

  • Posted on September 15, 2011 at 8:05 am
I had a weird experience this morning. I woke up around 7 and, given my late bedtime, wasn't ready to get out of bed yet. But I thought I should talk to Loxgom about my changes in plan, see how his energy jives with my sudden wild desire to break loose. So I relaxed and started talking to him in my head.

But then I guess I was sleeping, or went into a trance? I felt very awake. There were full sentences, paragraphs even. We were standing there in this landscape that transformed the lace-knit off-white quilt into a white hazy place with some lacy shallow water to the west behind me and a rising star to the east. I say "star" because everything except me and him were an ethereal sort of white, so it didn't look like your typical sunrise.

Anyway we're standing there chatting, or whatever, and I just flat-out told him stuff, no holds barred, and he replied in that warm and friendly if not overly verbose way, and it felt like a really good conversation.

But I don't remember a word.

At the end of it I gave him ice cream to thank him, which should have clued me in to the whole "I'm asleep" thing, 'cause there ain't no ice cream in my bedroom. But I remember the flavor and will definitely offer some later.

Point is, I know I had this little heart-to-heart to clarify my intent and help him help me through this upcoming transformation, and I guess vice versa since he's got a forthcoming death-rebirth according to Whispers. And I know, or I think or imagine, that I, we did good. But I don't remember what was said. o_0 And now I'm having difficulty trusting my subconscious self, because of course if this was truly a great conversation with a nice spirit, I want to consciously remember it and consciously use it to guide me.

So, I guess by writing here I figured out the solution is to let go and trust that my subconsciousness isn't out to get me in this case, which is weird, 'cause there've been times when I'm totally out to get myself, and this doesn't seem to be one of them.

<3

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Curtains (A dream)

  • Posted on September 7, 2011 at 9:54 am
I once had a dream where I seen three beings who looked like people I know.

One of them is the owner of an occult supply store near where I live. We shall call him D.

I went into a old style theater with him (kinda looks like this http://photos.igougo.com/images/p100...ening_Room.jpg)
with the red curtain drawn closed.

D showed me how to open them from a distance, by using my hands. He said now Try opening them." and then he walked away and out of the showroom.

I looked at it and seen an orangish, reddish glow around the curtains, as if something was emitting this light from behind it. I also felt a very demonic energy, and thus I did not open it. I woke up later.

At first, I thought it was a symbolic display of my inner mind trying to tell me things. Now considering the events that have been occuring to me as of late, I now think it was a group of spirits trying to get me to do something they could not (or didn't have the power they themselves) do, maybe even opening a gate.

What do you think?

Abnormal Time Travel Dream

  • Posted on August 10, 2011 at 10:38 am
I vaguely recalled this dream after having it, whilst I was discussing it with my brother, a few years ago. It was an occasion when I "leaped", if you will, to another place and time, where these indigenous people were chanting and dancing at a fire, and they were ritually catching my soul. I was afraid, but then I turned into a large mountain cat--I actually think it was a tiger. If it was a tiger, than I must have been pulled to a time region many thousands of years ago, because there shouldn't have been tigers in any European or Middle Eastern land. But my point is, it seemed to them that I was a real tiger, so in a manner of speaking I did physically appear in another place. However my theory is that I somehow possessed a tiger that was nearby.
It seemed to me they were trying to trap a spirit in some sort of strange invisible prism they had produced through ritual. They probably weren't aware of the prism because they were rooted in their bodies, unlike me. I could see it because it was trapping me. I don't know if they're my ancestors, but there must have been some reason I was pulled through to there, some bridge I made in my mind while I was sleeping.
If anyone has input on this I'd appreciate it. Something I'd like to understand more now that I've remembered it.
Wind Turtle.

Slenderman reoccurring

  • Posted on July 31, 2011 at 7:44 pm
I've been having some dreams of the internet-created entity Slenderman lately, one dream in particular struck me as being occult-y. I dreamt of Slenderman following me for a while, I was very scared by this. He had bright blue eyes, that was the only thing that stood out about his face. Eventually I was in a sunny gazebo-type of room, with a human form that I recognized to be Cthulhu, with a very curly long beard, haha. I already have a connection with Cthulhu, and he feels friendly to me whenever I meet him in dream. Slenderman and Cthulhu had a conversation about me that I cannot remember, and then shortly after I was defending myself from a crowd of people attacking me. I recognized myself to be male, and an archer, although I had no bow and arrow I still made the motions to "fire" at the people near me. I associate the archer aspect with my sort-of patron rune Algiz, I constructed a servitor around it previously. I'm not entirely sure what the significance of Slenderman in the dream is, or the general interpretation.
Last night I dreamt of researching Slenderman for occult related information, so I'm doing so now. I had a morbid curiosity with him ever since I came across the Marble Hornets videos, but it was nothing more than a passing interest. Lately he's been appearing more and more in passing, showing up in forums I frequent, being featured in a game I play, and I'm wondering if there's any way to benefit from his interest in me. I kind of classify him as an egregore, and I tend to follow a chaos magick approach when I do practice. I don't know much about him as an occult entity, or how to use the encounters. I realize that I fear him greatly and that could be a powerful tool if I could focus it in some direction. I'd like to turn this into a positive thing for me, it seems like a good opportunity to do something magick-related with it.

Problems keepign a Dream Journal?

  • Posted on May 31, 2011 at 8:17 pm
For years I have lamented waking and spending upwards of 20 minutes working on a Dream Journal. You know how it is... your running late to work, you have an important meeting in the morning but you stayed up late surfing OC. So now, you have to fit a shower, breakfast, and dream journal in to a 30 minute window.

It got the point where the mere sight of it will sicken me some mornings. (Frater U.D. was right!) I have come to despise writing in it so much that I know that some mornings I have sabotaged my pre-awoken self to purge all memory of the dream so I did not have to write in it.

However, I do understand it's importance and significance to the mind's inner-workings. It has helped me on many occasions; when deciphering some arcane concepts to helping me know what's my heart says dealing with simple life-decisions.

After much neglect I felt that the main reason I came to loathe it was that I was writing down every single detail of the dream. When I dream, I dream in moods, and these moods often take paragraphs to describe accurately. Also, I tend to dream in a language that is not easily translated into the written word. So when I got done with an entry, I'd have what amounted to an entire sitcom script upwards of 3 pages long. So long for the shower and breakfast! So what now?

I have realized that I was fretting over a pretty easy fix. One thing that Kraig and the others don't say is that, it turns out that if you merely write down the date, general mood, main characters, and a 3 sentence descriptor, you should be OK. Obviously, if there were any epiphanies or other weird shit, you might want to jot that down as well. But you really don't need a 15 page entry every frickin morning! With this method, I can usually recall the important bits of the dream for any sort of astral work, etc.

And for the beginner: once you get practice at this, you'll begin to realize that it does become easier. And while this method might slow your overall progress slightly (I liken it to surgery with a chainsaw) you will ultimately do better because you didn't give up due to your hatred of the journal.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Thoughts?

Dream with hepful entity or creature

  • Posted on February 26, 2011 at 8:36 pm
I had a dream event with a helpful entity sometime in the past and was inquiring if any could help me comprehend which type of entity assisted me. For close to a year I've had many entity attacks in my dreams or at least in some plane after I had gone to sleep.

In this event, I was in a dream and then ripped from it and placed in a vacant room with two astral entities that had the perception of human. I was of course still asleep, but as usual I became lucid. In this vacant room, I was getting attacked by the two entities that looked human. Some time passed and I was pinned against the wall by one entity. A symbol appeared above my head, scorched into the wall.

The entities were frightened by the symbol and called out "get this demon symbol away from me". I of course had no hand in this symbol and was startled also. The two
entities backed off me and was no longer physically attacking me, but then they set about mentally attacking me instead.

Once they begin to attack me again an almost human like creature or entity came crawling halfway out of a mirror inside the room on the closet door wall. The entity had human appendages, head and body form but its skin was almost fiery or amber-ed to withstand heat. It's eyes were a fiery yellow as-well.

The creature crawled partially from the mirror and turn to face the entities attacking me. The entities were instantly turned to ash, but the creature did not just let me see this event. I was forced to see the event from the entities' perspective. I could see the creature and its power to destroy the entities. It was a frightening experience, although I felt no hostility against myself from it.

The creature returned through the mirror, and I soon awoke in my bed. As I mention before, I had been astrally attacked after falling to sleep nearly every night for a year, but the attacks stop that night and have not returned for over a year now so far. I've been reading occult literature for the last year trying to find out which creature or entity this was that help me that night.

I've had many lucid dream experiences since that night in which I was meditating with a woman until a fire would consume us, and we felt no pain but only circulation of energy from one another.

Has anyone done magic in a dream?

  • Posted on January 21, 2011 at 9:47 am
I don't mean invocation or seeing the results in the dream but drawn a circle or a sigil while dreaming and seen that bleed through to waking life.

Last night I experienced what I thought at the time was a wakeful altered state of consciousness. But upon getting up this morning I feeling more and more certain that I was dreaming. I was aware I was in my bed and even of my body's position, but at the same time my mind was experiencing my pillow's consciousness. I saw triangles too. With words written on them. I wish I could remember all the words. One was strength.

Problem with lucid dreaming process

  • Posted on January 12, 2011 at 8:24 pm
I was reading about the process of learning lucid dreaming and began to write down my dreams. The problem I'm having is for some reason I cannot stand to write them down. It just feels wrong, like dreams are too personal for paper even if no one reads it but myself. I understand why writing them down is important, but I want to know if it's really "essential". I already have good dream recall, on a normal night I will recall at least one dream if not 2 or 3. Last night I recalled 5, some in great detail. I've also gathered from what I have written down general "dream signs" that could work for me, namely water, animals, anger in myself, and sexuality. Would it be enough to simply use what I have naturally instead of putting it on paper? I have no results as of yet, I'm new to the practice and I've yet to really be disciplined in the daily activity of analyzing my surroundings for dream signs.

Dreams and sem-real occurance

  • Posted on January 8, 2011 at 8:31 pm
Helly everyone,
I have a dream i want to talk about ....or an occurrence that happens to me before i go to dream controlling [ is it lucid ?]

Most of the time before i enter the own controlling/feeling as real experience in dreaming state. It has to happen a sleep paralysis attack [ or worse ]
I have been having this semi-real attack for long time, since i was 9...
It happens that [most of the time] i feel something is pressing on my chest, as if i'm choking, it gets bad that i feel like choking and i can even hear/see my fearful thoughts begin to manifest thus when i open my eyes i see that my room is almost inverted and sometimes i see common people to me or entities...

With this experience accompanies [ most of time ] the state what i call dream controlling,
Its a state where i experience random stuff....
Like myself being teleported to another part of the world and occurring and i feel it as if its real...
It happened to me today, Till i performed a visualized Lesser banishing ritual of pentegram
But what do u think of that choking/sleep paralysis experience ?
How to get rid of it ?

Visual excercise thought I would share ask for interpertations

  • Posted on December 17, 2010 at 5:57 pm
Ok so I was doing some visual exercises and meditation which I have always done and do tend to have quite intresting results from once I lose myself in it.

So I started out as I always do visualising myself in a sunny warm meadow only when things manifest I usally tend to let them out of curiosity so where normally it is day time and sunny to begin with it seemed it was dusky almost dark and although warm it seemed there was a breeze. The meadow also where as the plant life there is normally like a light green this time it was all rich deep green and seemed some how fresher.

I went about doing the usual things I do to relax there and was quite aware that I wasn't alone. I ignored the presence for a while but was curious so I sat down in the middle of the meadow where the grass was long and taller than me and asked the presence to make it self known which it did and I suddenly had an urge to ask it for help with an upcoming event that I have been worried about not looking well for and has been troubling me as its an important event and I want to make a good impression.

So I go the feeling it wanted to help me with this to begin with and fro some reason I thought because of the nature of the problem it would be a women but when it showed it self it was male and I remember telling it I was suprised to not find a women.

He was tall, sallow skin, black hair and had dark trousers and a red flannel shirt on and was very, very masculine again why I found it so suprising. So I explained I was stressing over this event and wanted to appear my best for it. Not necessairly asking him to make me look good but to appear to others in the best light I can and to give me confidence for the event as it has really been causing me stress.

I asked him who he was and he told me his name was "Hannon". He got his hands dirty on the ground and started produing my face with the muck and dirt on his hands. I remember he wasn't exactly gentle but I don't think he meant me harm.

Then the dream/visualisation cut away to the forest which was surronding the meadow. There was a fire and I was aware he had hunted something. I knew he was a Hunter straight away. It was rabbit and he skinned it. He also showed me the image of a deer. It was female and still living. He took the skinned rabbit and started to rub it over my face arm, legs and clothes in an effort to help with what I had asked. I was a bit perturbed by the method and told him I didn't want anything to be harmed for my gains (I am a vegetarian, don't like hurting animals) he told me it was harmed because its essense was in me now. I felt the blood soaking into my skin and he told me after that it was probaly time for me to go now and so it ended.

So that was it. Never heard of Hannon the Hunter until then although I am aware of the deity Herne the Hunter but he is suppose to have antlers and who I saw didn't although he did show me the image of a deer but it was a female deer which don't have antlers. The whole rabbit thing weirded me out slightly but I felt almsot impolite asking him not to do it as he was trying to help with what I requested. So that was it? Anyone ever seen anyone similar in their experiences?

Lucid dreaming test

So I'm attempting to establish an easy system that I thought of and need to refine it a bit for inducing lucid dreams and what can be accomplished from within them. For this, I need a group of people willing to use my suggestions and who will report back to me everything they see even if it is personal.

I'm looking for probably about 10 people to start with. Add me to me MSN or send me an e-mail. My e-mail address is n.bleed@hotmail.com I probably won't check back here often so email me or add me for more details.

This is kind of a personal obsession of mine.

Recurrent Motifs and Geographies

  • Posted on December 7, 2010 at 5:53 pm
I couldn't find a thread specifically discussing this so here is one. First, I'm only referring to regular dreaming in this thread.

Do you have recurring motifs, people and geographies in your dreams? If so, please share and compare.:)

I don't have much consistency in most of my dreams but there are a couple of things that may be worth mentioning. A general geography that has cropped up several times over the years is a desolate mid-western plains America looking place, often with a lone abandoned two-story wooden house. I have a lot of dreams that take place in surroundings like that. Not all have been exact necessarily but very similar. Often times there will be numerous tornados off in the distant horizon surrounding the house I'm in. The era actually looks like the early part of the 20th century, maybe 1920's-30's. Tornados, low-hanging clouds and violent storms are also recurring motifs in a lot of my dreams whether within that geography or not. A lot of the time a tornado will go right through where I am or if it's a storm the clouds are sometimes so low that I can reach up and grab pieces of them as if they are more of a solid fluffy substance.

Dream recall techniques failing… Help?

  • Posted on October 11, 2010 at 6:24 pm
Hey peoples.

So recently I started keeping a dream journal under my bed, and hopefully you LD'ers know about the "write down your dreams every end of every REM cycle (every 90 mins)" technique. So this involves an alarm, and you waking up and writing down the dreams.

The only problem is...
I fall asleep and don't wake up until the early morning, when I realize that the alarm failed. I'm pretty sure I turn it off unconsciously (I hear it while asleep, but it doesn't wake me up, and I turn off the alarm while unconscious).

So that's kind of screwing me up.
Ideas?

Also I don't have time to write down my dreams when I wake up in the morning, and I'm kind of against that anyway, seeing as the only dream you would remember would be the one you just had, because the memory gets overwritten, for lack of a better term.

Sleeping tricks

  • Posted on September 7, 2010 at 7:20 pm
Do you struggle to fall asleep? Well, take comfort in knowing that you are not alone.

Sometimes the events of the day or preoccupying thoughts can hinder us to where we toss and turn, adjusting our pillow while trying to find a way to drift off. We essentially become victims to our own mind and these mental barriers block us from easily entering into a peaceful night's sleep.

The purpose of this web site is to provide you with effective ways to lull your mind into a state of slumber. The next time you find yourself in the situation of struggling to fall asleep, consider using the proven mental techniques illustrated on this site. Each of the links here will take you to individual step-by-step instructions that show you exactly what is required to perform the technique (or trick).

Everyone is different, so we each require different mental strategies to fall asleep. While trying these techniques, if you find one is unsuccessful, then simply move on to the next one. Eventually you'll find the one that works for you. Happy dreaming!

Dream Interpretation

  • Posted on July 7, 2010 at 9:11 am
I have pulled (most of) the Dream Interpretation and put them under the newly created Dream Interpretation board.

If you have had a dream and want to know its meaning PLEASE post under that board rather then this one, as that is precisely what it was created for.

In that forum you can also discuss the meanings of dreams in general, as well as specific symbolism in dreams. The main Dream Craft forum is now used to discuss things the cross over, lucid dreams, dream work, dream craft, dream experience, and other non-interpretation type discussions.

If you are unsure about which board to post in feel free to ask!
