This isn’t your typical before and after. This shows me at 98 lbs with exercise bulimia, and at 105 lbs after figuring out how to be healthy. This is the difference between unhealthy and healthy, between hating myself and loving myself, between destroying my body and treating it like a temple. I don’t want anyone to ever look at this picture and think that the before is something to strive for, because trust me, it isn’t.

Thank you for posting this!

Let’s Hear it for Animism!

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 1:40 pm
From Wildhunt

The Atlantic Wire and The Daily Dish both point to an essay in The Chronicle of Higher Education by Stephen Asma, a professor of philosophy at Columbia College Chicago, that criticizes the rhetoric of the “New Atheists” (Dawkins/Hitch_ens/Harris) while making the case for the preservation of “wacky” belief systems like_animism (“the Rod_ney Dan_ger_field of re_li_gions”). Hypnagogic/Hypnopompic Hallucinations

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 5:27 am
I awoke early this morning to someone or something intensely rubbing my back. At first I thought it was my girlfriend but as I was waking up to it I became aware that there wasn't really anyone there; my girlfriend being in the shower getting ready for work. Fully awake I continued to allow the experience for about a minute before I shrugged it off. As soon as I moved the sensation turned to a tingling all over the body starting where the original sensation was taking place and then went away.

I've had these kinds of experiences most of my life so it's nothing new to me and probably nothing new to most people here. I was just wondering what some of you make of these kinds of hypnagogic/hypnopompic "hallucinations". Thoughts? Opinions? Theories? Personal experiences?

Please join us for online Hermetic Mystic Circle;

Please join us for online Hermetic Mystic Circle;

Saturday morning Perth Australia time from 830 am to 1130 am
Sat 5 Feb 2011
Sunday morning Perth Australia time from 630 to 930 am
Sun 6 Feb 2011

Online circle provides an opportunity to work with global peers in an astral sacred space which affords increased energy available to all magicians present. In this manner, those with beginning clairvoyant sight are able to see much better for the duration of the circle. With regular participation with local or online peers a magician can develop permanent gains in their astral senses and move forward faster with greater joys.

Participating in a circle with other magicians can have a very positive effect which lifts all within that group . Those who work together often enough to form a bond have an alchemical contagion. When one ascends in vibration , the others in the group enjoy that same lift of vibration.

The vibration of the magician ascends, also, with kundalini events, metaphysical experience, magickal workings, attenements, initiations , mystic projections , et cetera. As the vibration is raised across time , the magician develops greater siddhi powers and strength in the powers already acquired.

In the immediate future, I will open Skype and look for interested participants each week about this same times as listed above, as I am available on a weekly basis. Mornings are quiet around here evenings tend to be very busy and chaotic but I could be available on a late evening after my family has retired, if this is practical for a group of magicians globally.

If a particular time becomes busy then, we will have circle fortnightly . If online circle is not well attended then we will schedule circle monthly instead around the weekend closest to the full moon.

I hope we can generate an interest in meeting again. A group of 6 of us sat last weekend and had a projection to the Great Pyramids of Luxor and the Godden Chamber of Melchiezedek to receive rods of initiation and attunements.

If 2 or more show up we will have circle. If only 1 shows up , we might have a reading and discussion.

Just download Skype

Christian Folk Magic

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 3:30 am
http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Christ...377807&sr=1-72

Although this focuses upon Christians in Egypt, it's a good read. I've tried to explain to Christians that Christ taught that through the Holy Spirit "miracles," were possible and this is how he did his magical feats. He encouraged his disciples to use magic too. The Holy Spirit is how Christians, Jesus, and YHVH, are all immortal, and why in heaven people can do real magic like fly through the air. If in heaven, why not on earth? But sigh, Christians would rather just pray to the Father or the Son, to do all their miracles for them. Otherwise they might be tainted by Satan.

Jesus was just a middle eastern guru, who with the power of his god, made a cult which became in time a massive religion. The source is not an ego so YHVH is a construct for the human ego to connect with Spirit, as only meditation and magical practice conditions the human consciousness to understand Spirit consciousness which is omnipotent but this means very simple. Things become less complex at the source, just being sounds simple and it is, but very "holy," as such freedom to simply be forever doesn't just factually exist anywhere. The Savior of man, Jesus the Son, and the avatar of infinity YHVH ("the Father"), are merely the outer form of what could be esoteric Christianity for many if only Churches taught this. In India the outer form of the gods and the buddhas, isn't favored, the inner mystical side is. What a strange religion Christianity is. Definately a manifestation of the water element and the dark side of the Cosmos with it's attachment to ego (eternal souls desired), and it's demi-urgic king, YHVH, the ego made infinite. That and it's attachment to faith which is a feeling element. Definately water. Who knew such a large dark cult could be active on the earth element plane? Then again earth element as opposed to air is more dark than light for a middle element. Oh well I guess the Occult mostly should remain inner and so our kind must hide from our own families else they believe us decieved by the devil and destined for hell. No wonder my mom when I was 16 trashed my Wicca books. What mother would want her son, to go to hell forver and burn?

Is there any fashion designer whose designs you absolutely love and cant get enough of?

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 12:39 am

So many…

Burberry, Balmain, Givenchy, Christian Dior, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen (I love what Sarah Burton has done with the brand, but it just doesn’t have the same spark that it used to), Ann Demeulemeester, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Hermes, Lanvin, Luxirare, Rad Hourani, Rachel Freire, Rodarte, Yohji Yamamoto, L’Wren Scott, and probably a million more that I have forgotten.

I hadn’t seen that, I hadn’t even heard of that designer before (to be honest I am ill informed about the bulk of designers out there). I must say though I LOVE most of what I am seeing from this collection. I can’t wait for HQ images to come out of this. The gloves make me squeal.

What do you love about fashion?

  • Posted on January 30, 2011 at 12:21 am

It’s so versatile when you really embrace dressing up in a manner that makes you happy. You can wear clothes that your inner child would love (even if your inner child is the bug torturing kind). You can use it as a way to attract attention (positive, negative, sexual, respectful, etc) or detract attention (blend into the background, camouflage, etc.).

I like the idea of getting to dress up like a villain in a science fiction film on a regular basis. Spikes, layers, boots, leather, latex, straps, hats, etc. I also like the idea of paying homage to popular styles past. I’m not the sort of girl that wears dresses more than once or twice every few years, but I do love the look of a well cut pencil or circle skirt.

It’s another way to express your personality.
