Interview: How Bitcoin Created a Decentralized Crypto-Currency

I interviewed one of the developers behind Bitcoin for ReadWriteWeb:
Bitcoin is an open source, peer-to-peer electronic currency created by Satoshi Nakamoto and maintained by a small team of developers. As part of what’s turning into an ongoing series on the distributed Web, I talked to contributor Gavin Andresen about how the software works. This is a technical overview. If you’re interested in an economic or political look at the software, you can read the Wikipedia entry or Niklas Blanchard’s essay on the project.

My Predictions for 2011 at ReadWriteWeb
Here are my predictions for 2011:
Predictive analytics will be applied to more business processes, regardless of whether it helps.
The U.S. will add new provisions to the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement to include leaked classified information.
Despite this and other measures taken by governments and corporations, leaking will continue.
Cybersecurity hype of 2011 will dwarf that of 2010.
We’ll see more CouchApp clients for popular web services.
Almost all the big social enterprise players will have some sort of “app store” offering.
Adobe will try to acquire Joyent.

Top Ten Pagan Stories of 2010 (Part One)
As we reach the close of 2010, it is time to stop for a moment and take stock of the previous year. When you look at (and for) news stories regarding modern Paganism (and related topics) every day of the year, you can sometimes lose focus on the larger picture. So it can be a [...]

Characteristics of self-styled Chaotes
Chaotes stand at the centre of their own worthless and uninteresting dramas.
They claim that the subjective conviction of achieving results is the same as actually achieving them.
They resort to pseudo-scientific arguments that cannot be tested in support of their claims.
They present themselves as authorities without providing any evidence in support of their supposed authority.
They suggest they have gone beyond slavery to freedom.
They use ‘Chaos’ as a synonym for ‘freedom’.
They insist that you take their ego bound estimation of their considerable worth at face value.
They identify with supposedly elite subcultures.
They accept so-called rebellious movements as inherently authentic.
They cite obscure theories in support of their arguments.
Their concern with subject matter that cannot be clearly defined allows for their speculative treatments.
They engage in groundless speculation.
They equate pure chance with effective magic.
They are happy to accept second hand absurdities as exemplars of truth.
They are materialistic.
They are hostile, ego driven and scornful.
They are mired in their own defective and unattractive personalities.
They are happy to resort to pseudo-history as well as pseudo-science.
They claim affiliation with Austin Osman Spare, although AOS would have despised them.
They tend to accept Crowley as a reliable and sincere authority.
They employ lame humour.
They present personally invented arbitrary systems as if they were generally true.
They present random series of observations as theory.
They are not open about their sources.
The purpose of their rites is generally unclear.
SecuriTee Blanket spell!
I propose we all get as many people as we can involved to contribute to a global, mass-protection working!
The basic premise is simple: Too many, especially travellers and the young, are afflicted with intrusive/toxic/unwelcome influences, often human but also spirits and Psyjunk. The aforementioned disrespectful vermin are hereby dubbed "Spam."
So, why not let's create a filter? I had originally planned to use the borders.com/O'Reilly Tshirts with raining pigs and umbrella, but apparently they don't make it anymore.
So I'm going with a simpler design, one that can be found, bought and printed all over the world. This is the symbol, the T Shirt is not needed but it helps (more useful later, as armor.)

Zazzle has 'em, among many places.
As for the Rite itself, anything goes. I would suggest working with beings like Gula, Kwan Yin, Durga, Kali, Jord, Septu, Serquet, Shed, Tutu, Naberius, Glasya Labolas, Jizo, Bhairava and even Dumbledore.
The Sephiroth Chesod could be invoked, as could any protective influence.
Or just use your own power, Chaote style! No invocation needed!

I’m looking for a book about a witch who turns to jesus
I need this book because i want to break it down from an occult perceptive and find others like it or written by the author.
It was written in the 70s by a girl who's father was an alcoholic and a mother who worked so often no one was around to cook.
It might have been named "Witch Girl" or something like that.
Does anyone have a title and/or an author?
Thanks.
On Faith: Faith in 2010
My latest response at the Washington Post’s On Faith site is now up. Here’s this week’s panel question: “As voted by the_Religion Newswriters Association’s members, among the year’s most consequential religion newsmakers were Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Pope Benedict XVI, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, and the U.S. bishops. How would you have ranked them? [...]
