wow that sucks, I just finished rereading a Peoples History of the United States. It is so captivating that I found it hard to put down even the second time through.

Gonnick, btw is the comic historian guy, but his stuff always seemed to draw heavily on Zinn. Gonnick is my secret fav cuz he is so easy and fun to read.
